Joanne has recently been working with TAPS (Television Arts Performance Showcase), developed by BAFTA's Jill James and directed by Charles Garland, at the Comedy Writers Workshop attended by Paul Mayhew-Archer and Jon Plowman of the BBC.
Joanne performed a total of twenty one new scripts which have now moved on to a stage of further development. Joanne said "It was very challenging and great fun. Hopefully they will be the new prime-time BBC series' of next year".
TAPS is an organisation committed to seeking out, developing, showcasing and promoting emerging talented writers by putting their original voices in front of leading drama and comedy producers and script executives. TAPS aims to unearth new writers who may not otherwise be noticed and help them develop better scripts through workshops plus access to professional directors and actors who speed that essential nurturing of their talent.
TAPS actively develops original voices of the future for an industry which needs to constantly seek raw talent and fresh ideas. |

'Sunday Night at the Manchester Palace' was a wonderful evening and hopefully a substantial amount of money will have been raised for the charity DebRA. There were thirteen fantastic songs performed beautifully and it is impossible to choose a favourite!

Joanne will be starring at the Manchester Palace Theatre in a unique musical event in aid of the charity DebRA on April 24th.

‘The Greatest Songs from the Greatest Musicals’ - Sunday 24th April at 7.30pm
Sunday Night at the Manchester Palace is a unique musical event in aid of the charity DebRA.
An all star West End Cast and orchestra will perform the greatest songs from the greatest musicals. From Okalahoma to The Lion King, from West Side Story to Hair, from Oliver to The Phantom of the Opera, this extraordinary evening will bring together all your favourite musical moments in one spectacular occasion.
The evening will be presented by celebrity hosts including Kim Wilde, Oliver Tobias and Tracie Bennett. Other celebrity appearances already confirmed include Bonnie Langford, Joanne Farrell and David Shannon, with many more celebrities to be announced over the coming weeks.
DebRA provides care for people (mostly children) who suffer from ‘EB’, a currently incurable skin condition. The money raised will go to funding nurses, a welfare team and research into finding effective treatments.
For anyone who loves musicals, this is a night out not to be missed.

Earlier this year, Joanne recorded three songs for a new JAMES BOND THEMES CD, which went on sale in June. The new page that has been added to the website is called MUSIC and is dedicated to music recorded by Joanne.
Initially, we have only added the 'Totally... James Bond: The Essential 007 Themes' CD information (which is quite comprehensive - and includes audio clips!)
Additionally, a few minor changes have been made to all pages within JoanneFarrell.com and lots more updates and upgrades will be made within the next few weeks.... CALL BACK SOON! |

Joanne spent the weekend in Cheshire, cheering on Sky One's 'Harchester United - Dream Team'!
Having stayed over in Alderley Edge, Dream Team (led by Dhaffer L'Abidine who plays Marcel Sabatier) played a celebrity football match against the 'Allstars' (Coronation Street) at Macclesfield Town's football stadium.
The match was organised in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief and the 'Allstars' were beaten 5-3 by the 'Deam Team'. The football match was followed by a charity auction. |

Further to the news update of March 30, we can now reveal that Joanne is currently filming her new regular role as 'Nicola Higgins' in ‘STEEL RIVER BLUES’ for YTV/Granada, which will be screened on ITV 1.
STEEL RIVER BLUES is a new northern based fire fighting drama and whilst it is seen by many as a replacement for ‘London’s Burning’, the drama will be very different in tone and delivery.
Initially a 7 part series, it is hoped that ‘Steel River Blues’ will become a popular long-running series.
